I have just spoken to a Travel Lodge in Caernarfon and they have 30 rooms available for the Friday and 34 available for the Saturday. Unfortunately there are no cheap rooms and it will cost from £67 per night. This would mean that we can all stay in one place. We have stayed there before and there is a large car park next to it. If we can get some names before the end of this week the Tour is ON and I can rehash to route to suit.
Hope to see you in August!

You can't rely on booking.com they only have a certain room allocation.

According to their website Premier inn still have plenty of rooms for that date but coming up at £79 per night rather than £39. Was that a special rate they quoted you Andrew for a block booking?

Unfortunately I am going to have to kill the Tour of Wales for this year. Due to family committments I was late in getting the tour organized and things are not falling into place as I had planned. Problems with accommodation meant that I would have had to rehash the whole route and I have just had an email this morning from First Hydro saying that unfortunately due to a high degree of maintenance work during August and September they would have to deny us access to both Stwlan and Marchlyn Dams. As these two trips up to the dams form the highlight of the tour it wouldn't be the same.
So, sorry for this folks but I accept that it is part due to me not being able to get organized earlier.

No worries Andrew, maybe next year.

I totally understand considering what you have/been going through. Cars are no where near as important as spending quality time with the family.

See you at Car Fest North though hopefully?

Andrew, I fully endorse BIG_MVS sentiments. I know you wanted to organise this event to have something to focus on, but as things are not falling into place as expected, I am sure everyone will understand...... There is always another year.
I will be intouch when I get back home.

I had the carfest confirmation through today so maybe we can focus on that instead as the big northern area meet this year.

You can also buy a ticket and come along and say hello even if you are not displaying a car.
