Brooklands Classic Breakfasts - Starts 23rd Jan

Postby stephendell » Wed Dec 15, 2010 7:50 pm

Sounds interesting.

Competition for Goodwood Breakfast Club and possibly better value if you want to look round the museum as well.

Unfortunately they may have slipped up by making it pre-73 only rather than 25 years old +

PRESS RELEASE

15th December 2010

Brooklands Classic Breakfasts launched:

23rd Jan & 20th Feb 2011 at Brooklands Museum

A new series of monthly breakfast events for classic vehicle enthusiasts gets underway in 2011 at Brooklands Museum in Weybridge. Brooklands Classic Breakfasts are open to everyone with an interest in vintage and classic cars, motorcycles and commercial vehicles. The first Classic Breakfast will be served on Sunday 23rd January, with the second on 20th February and every month thereafter.

A full English breakfast with tea and coffee will be available from 8am until 10am in the newly refurbished Sunbeam Café in the Edwardian Clubhouse. Anyone in a pre-1973 vehicle will be able to access the site via the Campbell Gate entrance from Brooklands Road and assemble in the Paddock, which will become the focus of the day. Parking for spectators’ cars is located in our main visitor car park accessed via Mercedes-Benz World.

Brooklands Museum Director Allan Winn says: “Classic enthusiasts in the area have been asking for a regular breakfast event for some time, and we’re pleased at last to be able to offer it. Whether you’re an owner or a spectator, the first breakfast will be the perfect antidote to the January sales or the winter blues, and a great opportunity to chat to like-minded people in wonderful surroundings.”

From 10am the Museum will be up and running as usual with access to all the displays of cars, motorcycles, bicycles and aircraft for which Brooklands is famous, all included in the entry price. The Concorde Experience (an additional charge of £4 for adults & £2 for children aged 5-16 years) is well worth a visit and, for the youngsters; the Children’s Discovery Centre and Soft Play area provide entertainment and learning.

Prices for Brooklands Breakfasts are: Adults & Seniors £13, Children (3 – 12 years) £6.50. For Brooklands Trust Members, the prices are £10 for Adults & Seniors with Children paying £5. All prices include the breakfast (served from 8 – 10am) and entry to Museum exhibits (open from 10am). Pre booking and more information is available via Donna Hopton on 01932 857381 ext 253 or e-mail at: [email protected]

Future dates for Classic Breakfasts at Brooklands are: March 20, April 17, May 15, July 17, Sept 25th, Oct 16thand Dec 18th.

Brooklands Museum is open from 10am to 4pm every day apart from 24th – 28th December inclusive.
