La Vie en Bleu Prescott 25th & 26th May 2019

Postby miles thomas » Thu Nov 22, 2018 8:55 am

OK this event is probably the best French car weekend of the year in the UK. A great setting with a nice mixture of motorsport on the hill climb and car displays. However this year was not as well supported. In an attempt to change this as a club we will be putting in a bit more effort to help make this a successful 2019.
We need as many of you to come along and display your car and or compete on the hill. After some discussion with Prescott I have agreed a new class which will be for Alpines only. At the moment its called"Alpine V6 GT". This as well as support from Solihull Alpine who are bringing the new Alpine and Renault sport megane is a good start.
More to come so make it a date and also check out the members section for more information on the Invited Clubs Classes as it comes.

See you on the hill :D

All event info will be available here as well but you need to be a member of an Invited MSA club to compete in the Alpine Class and most competitors that have shown an interest are already members.

Miles, I have posted La Vie on the events page of Renault Owners Club website and included it in the calendar in the magazine, with credit to RAOC for the organisation, so hope a few more members will come. I will also push it on Facebook nearer the time. I will be there at least one of the days myself

Wouldn't be going otherwise, although it's a great day out. I'm hoping to finally get the Vehicle Passport in place and get it's first entry on a rally the Bovington Stages in early March 2019, if I can only get the car compliant in time. Every time I've gone to push forward on getting the car compliant the rules move away from me, Jan 1 introduced new rules for the fire extinguisher system which of course the car doesn't comply with....

That’s so that you keep having to purchase more stuff all the time, as I have got older it doesn’t matter what sport you are in to they all do it.
Could be different shoes change of type of top, you name it it’s justification of job for someone a fact of life now just have to except it and try not to get angry about it, just smile :D

Right as of last week I have had the new class for Alpines confirmed by the compition secretary Prescott. And they are hopefull to have the on line entres up and running on the website later this week.
This should help make this weekend more involving and create greater interest for members who are attending and competing.
If you want to enter but don't have a car that fits this class don't worry have a look on line and you will find you can enter one of the regular classes.Prescott have said that if there is a good turnout across the classes they will try to group the French cars together in the paddock.
I will keep an eye on the on line entres site and post when it's working.

Online entries are go :)
I haven't gone through the process yet as I need to renew my license to input the info. Looks straight forward and you can also book tickets for the event and club parking.
Remember if you are competing on Sunday but want to do the whole weekend you only need to buy a Saturday ticket. Your competition entry is your ticket for Sunday.
