Since we are on personal opinions...
I think the older A610 wheels make the car look more dated....very 80's to my eyes...
And whilst I'm here I don't understand the desire for larger diameter wheels- puts up the unsprung weight and damages the ride.
and another thing....lowering our cars puts the rear (and probably the front too) suspension geometry out, and they have a pretty low centre of gravity anyway.

That said I think the team dynamics wheels look great on a GTA/A610 and had been wondering about a set - mainly as the original rears are unobtainable and also because they are lighter than the originals. Are they available in 16" with the right offsets?

Now having got all that off my chest....Clee have you worked out where the subframes were different to get 1/4" back on the wheel gap? It would be funny if all the later A610 subframes just had an error...could be a good reason for a replacement batch.

I'm trying to find my 4 wheel alignment sheets, I am pretty sure that the left/right wheel base is one of the measurements...if so I'm now curious as to how my car can have the right wheel base but also have the wheel out of line with the arch....

Now what can I rant on next....price of petrol, Speeding fines (that would be a good one with Peter G) ,age of policemen anyone?

Larger diameter yes ,17" but lighter ....I'll weigh a one and get the DATA .
AndyH can get them custom .It's why I have them here for JIL test fit but threw a rear on just for the hell on the 610 and it fits just so without spacers etc in std form .I need to get JIL geo all done when back together so will have a greater understanding then ...ish
I will now take the frame out and look at it more closely .I have 5 GTA frames here so can see if they differ to any great degree .
I'm in discussions about remaking frames at the moment .Local guys that may be able to improve/reverse engineer at a reasonable rate .

Thanks guys, just need to weigh the originals- difficult just now as I'm laid out with a bad back.
I have a new pair of fronts in the roof- but that is like Everest the state I'm in.
I have found the alignment sheets and there is no measurement of wheelbase in it (sadly), so Clee we are relying on you....is it subframe location, turret or wishbone locations. Curious either way.

Mind you 2CV was designed with a different wheel based right to left- must be something especially French....

Lee, do we know if the measurements are the same as the GTA?......if so I can post them up for you. I also have the sub frame dimensions for the GTA.

John, what a good idea, I have the A 610 body repair manual, the dimensions must be in there too, I will have a look, as long as it isn't in the loft....
I also have the GTA one, so I will see if the are the same.

you can have 16 or 17 fronts with the right offset and 17 rear with right offset as discovered by Mr Clee :shock: 8) i've never had the chance to try them on a 610.... only road and race spiders until now....
as for lightness...... i've already weighed them years ago when we first started developing them for race spider ..... the fronts(17X7) were 2.5 kg lighter than the originals and te rears (17x9) were 3kg lighter than the originals..... PCD and centre bore are correct as they are made to measure in the uk not like the bling wheels which are made in china and need spigot rings to make them fit your car....

Interestingly the 18x9 fitted to my car is half a kilo lighter than the equivalent 17 the weight according to team dynamics website info. I am guessing with a 35 aspect ratio on an 18 ie less tyre wall then th is must end up being lighter than the eqivalent 17 package

There are some quit surprising differences between the 610 and the GTA dimensions.

your wheels are something out of the norm...... as far as i heard... don't trust the weights on the site.... they're just a guideline, 5 stud verses 4 stud... centre bore diameter etc the sizes of these can have an influence on the overall weight of the finished rim, my results are what i have physically done by weighing the rims myself not comparing info from the website.

It wouldn't surprise me if the sub frame was fine but the body was wrong.
All A110s had different shaped front wings left to right (one has a much more pronounced arch on top of it).
You can tell if ones been in an accident (or been worked on by a non-alpine bodyshop) if the wings are the same :lol:

Don't think my tape measure will be accurate enough to check the frame from the datum point :lol:
Remember that the 610 frame has been twatted and repaired so that may well explain why the GTA one evens things up a bit .

Got a full set of liners now that are good enough ,thanks to MF .3 of the old pots were very out of shape :shock: Must invest in a bore gauge :wink:
