What capacity are the standard brown injectors :?: I was going to get mine cleaned ,but it might be worth looking at upgrades .I take it 214 is to much Peter :?: Will have to look and see how old my filters are .

214cc is too big....you could smell the engine wasnt burning cleanly and CO2 was up. I will fit them when the ECU arrives (people have suggested a variable fuel pressure reg but Ive been advised against it). The standard ones are 185cc I think....the 191's should just give it a bit extra at the top end.

Get some slightly bigger ones off ebay.......when I said £20, that was for 6 posted and in working order from a guy who sells cossie parts on ebay......then you'll beable to run a bit more boost (without going mad!!)

They will be the better for a clean though,was wondering the limit with std ecu .Will be a long time till I can get uprated management , DG's might be ready by then :lol: :lol:

Extra injector kit.

I'm going to purchase in the near future a mappable 7th injector kit for my competition car project, I think this is the best option if you can't afford new management and injectors. I would strongly advise against fitting bigger injectors unless you have some way of controlling them. Many tuning companies fit uprated fuel pressure regulators - the problems with these only occur if they are cheap rubbish (the internal diaphrams split) but Cossie ones are a good option as they are rising rate and can be modified to make them adjustable if I remember rightly.

You mount a single injector in the V6 pipe and it has its own controller.

Tony, are you planning a PRV engined competition car now?
I can afford the mappable ECU (and have bigger injectors) its just that Davids one isnt ready yet and I get the impression its still some way away....whereas the season is only 3 months away now. The injectors Ive bought are only a wee bit bigger, so may overfuel slightly lower down but will do nicely once the turbo is wound up to 16PSI....combined with the chargecooler I'm working on.

Slightly off the subject of the GTA's achilles heel, however i've got use of a new WRX at the moment and I forgive my GTA for all its faults.

What a dull dull dull and easily forgetable muted driving experience, you can't even hear the engine! It might have all the bells and whistles but as for performance it suffers from big turbo lag, and I don't believe it's 0-60 time of 5.7 seconds!

My GTA would pi*s on it in a straight line, well until it overheated that is....

I know what you mean.....the Evo 8 at work isnt nearly as fast in a straightline and feels about as special as my Avensis.

PeterG are you sure they're 191cc injectors from a Cosworth?

I could be wrong but that seems very small for a 4 cylinder Cosworth - (191 / 5) x 4 = 153bhp approx ?

You've got 6 so therefore 230bhp but I was just more concerned that they're not much larger than you think and you'll end up in the situation you were in before, running too rich.

Have you looked up the manufacturer part number and checked the rate? There are a few sites ie http://www.wolfems.com.au/support/injectorflow
