Injector cleaning

Postby peterg » Tue Dec 13, 2005 12:51 pm

I have my old 191cc injectors back complete with a before and after results table! Although I havent tried them yet, i suspect it could be the best £150 Ive spent on the car of late.......none of them were flowing more than 181cc (the lowest spec injectors to the GTA ar meant to flow 185) and the spray patterns were all very random. The worst offending inector now has a 6.1% increase in flow. Nice!!!!!!!!!!
Hopefully it will all translate to a noticable improvement.
I now have a spare set of 191cc injectors if anyone is interested...they need a clean up but I'm only after a few quid for 'em!

Theyre back and theyre shiny new!!! They havent sorted the misfire at high boost when the turbo comes in but the car absolutely storms to the rev limiter!!! So much so that I spent half my drive this afternoon bouncing off it because I wasn changing up quickly enough  Just need to sort the poxy misfire at 3000ish rpm......having talked to DG I guess its probably the pump....D'oh!

Two regulators but I dont think they will make a difference.....the misfire is happening when the turbo first comes in which is apparently when the car needs most fuel.......apparently the regulators tend to fail more fully than just a little misfire, whereas the pump is 15 years old and may just be wearing and unable to keep up with the demand! The misfire goes if I turn the boost down....its a nuisance! I have some checks to run tomorrow.
