your help please

Postby stuartgtav6 » Wed Dec 21, 2005 10:45 pm

Hi
After 3 years on the drive, I've got her up and running. Just need the MOT and i'm off. 2 things I need advice on. First, insurance. please advise which company is best to approach. 2nd, I am hoping to drive down to LeMans next year for the 24 hour race, in the GTA. Tent in the back, any advise on package deals available. I guess I may need a third, European breakdown cover. Over to you. I was selling this car on ebay and because of all your help and advice I fell in love again and got her up and running. Thank you in advance. Stuart

Congrats on getting the plastic wedge running again! :D

Insurance depends on whether you're going use it daily or not. Putting it on a limited mileage classic policy as a second car is obviously the cheaper option, if you can. If you're a member of RAOC you can get a 10% discount on insurance with AON. Car needs to be garaged though. Mine is insured with ClassicLine insurance on an agreed value, limited mileage classic policy and car doesn't have to be garaged. :) Their number is 01455639000

Cherished Car Insurance are very good. i have used them for over 10 years. They are located about 100 yards away from Simon Taylor although he may not know it. They were 75% cheaper than the first quote I got. Agreed value and limited mileage of course. 01252 713148.
Driving an A610 is just so sublime.

AON

Postby Tony Smith » Fri Dec 23, 2005 6:59 am

I can thoroughly recommend AON - 2 GTA Turbos and A Skyline R32GTR all modified , on 1 policy for under £400 last year.
Alpines - GTA 3.0 Turbo, GTA 3.0 Inj (Project DD), GTA 6.2 V8 (500 bhp) , R32 Skyline GTR, BMW Alpina B10 635 Highline, Alpina B10 E39 5 Series, Jaguar 4.2 XKR, Laguna 205GT, BMW 120d.

Being involved in insurance (not motor, household etc etc) I have to say that usually you'll only find out if your insurance co is good when you have a claim. They all have good and bad days. I've had good service from AON but I've heard of others that haven't.
Check as many as you have time for.

2 A310s = under £250.
Alpine A110, Renault Safrane 2.5dt, Hudson Kindred Spirit (Renault powered), transAlp (Honda) and Ducati Multistrada
