Power gains

A cheap way to work out the potential power gain is just to measure the inlet temperature before and after at the plenum. Every degree centigrade lower is potentially worth 0.7 bhp - provided you have the extra fuel going in to keep the denser mixture at optimum.
Realistically I think a drop of 20-30 degrees is feasible so with the fueling set up properly that should be worth 15-20 bhp. A good gain in anybodies book. Anything that increases power without increasing boost pressure is a good mod.

Maybe more, as its not just the benefit of making more power with cooler boost, but stopping the ecu restricting power for safety as it does with high charge temp levels.. :)

1/2 way there....waiting for the new silicone hose to land. Should be done by the end of next week if the hose arrives.

Where's the dump valve going to be plumbed in Pete if you're losing the 'Turbo' plenum?

Good question, driving on-boost in race trim may not be such a problem (I'm guessing) and what is that Mad-Max motor your in, another of you claims to journalistic fame perhaps?

The silicone hose I ordered is here.....well nearly! They tried to deliver whilst I was at work, but it needed a signature... so its back at Wigton, 15 miles away. Will be collecting it on Wednesday, so should have nice underbonnet photos by Weds night..if I dont start tiling the bloody bathroom instead :twisted:

Well its fitted, although not yet working. The chargecooler itself fits quite snuggly where the old pipe used to go and the T pipe I ordered looks quite good. I have sent David the photos, I'm sure he'll post them here soon(ish). It will all fit under the engine cover, but it is a squeeze!
