OK this is what I have in the pipeline at the moment. I also want to add at least UK one track or 1/4 mile day. Input required please.

*These are definates as far as I am concerned.

11th/12th or 18th/19th February: Retromobile*

We have a club invite to Square Com (Renault Headquarters) if we visit Retromobile. Shuttle is £64 return for the first weekend at the moment. Hotel around £50 + Retromobile Admission. Let me know if you are interested. I need to let Renault know by 25th January if we want to go as a Club.

29th 30th April: WSR Zolder

This will be an official event for the Renault Histoire and Collection Trophy Challenge this year. More details to follow.

25th June: Bromley Pageant of Motoring*

2nd July: Classics and Retro Show

Formally the Retro Car Show. We will probaly visit with the Renault 21 Turbo Owners Club.

8th 9th July: Le Mans Classic

This will be an official event for the Renault Histoire and Collection Trophy Challenge this year. More details to follow.

16th July: Southwest Festival of Motoring

We have received an invite for this new event at Taunton Racecourse. If any members in that part of the country would like to organise a club stand please let me know ASAP. More details to follow.

9th 10th September: WSR Donington*

This should follow similar format to last year and will proably be the year's biggest meeting of Renault cars. This will also be an official event for the Renault Histoire and Collection Trophy Challenge this year.

30th Sep 1st Oct: WSR Le Mans

This will be an official event for the Renault Histoire and Collection Trophy Challenge this year. More details to follow.

Others
Classics on the Common TBC. We normally attend with the De Lorean Owners Club bit the event is not confimred yet this year.

Ace Cafe. French Classic and Performance night is every 3rd Monday. We have been visiting Surrey Quays instead in the Winter. Please let me know when you want to go back to the ACE or should we keep both?

Croix. French track day but no date confirmed yet for this year.

Cannonball 8000. Some members are keen to do this if they can get sponsorship.

How about a track day at Curborough (Lichfield, Birmingham) . Yes I know it is small, but it is reasonably central and not too expensive, I think. It is possible to race it as a sprint in 2 laps. Monday is normally the easiest day to throw a sickey off work for most.

I have discussed Haynes Motor Museum http://www.haynesmotormuseum.com/sitemap.php with Tony Smith. Could be a good venue for a summer meet. Pic-nic / BBQ with friends & partners??? PLUS they have a test circuit. Oh and of course the Museum.

nice idea in theory for the curborough as long as you only have a few participants.....

and the motor museum....... you can hire the circuit for £250 for a day... 3 hrs morning and 3 hrs afternoon......maximum participants 12 and only one car allowed on the circuit at any one time and noise restrictions apply also

yes mate would be best with only a few in the group and then it would be an acceptable day, the museum track noise level is 105 db on weekdays only..... it drops to 98 i think on a sunday and ....... No race Prepared cars allowed :!:
but if you have 6 cars @£42 each = 1 hour's track time per car not bad

or
you could go to Croix and spend probably £200-£250 for the day all inc travel costs and have a whole day without noise restrictions and be able to overtake other cars...... proper fun

Monthly

Postby Tony Smith » Sat Jan 21, 2006 8:06 am

I think we should look to have an event a month over the spring/summer as a club sponsored event so to speak with other events listed to allow people to pick and choose.

I've been speaking to Dermott recently and the Irish chapter and definitely going to 'der Ring' so we may want to consider that.

I also think it would be great to do a tour of Ireland - they would show us some great hospitality if we went I'm sure. Meet up on a Friday drive up to Hollyhead through the Welsh A/B roads stay somewhere in North Wales before going over on the Ferry on a Saturday morning. Come back Monday sometime be a great weekend I'm sure. I'll try and get some Ferry Prices. Accom cheap in Rural Ireland, and cheap track time while we are there.

LeMans 24hr has been mentioned by 1 or 2 people also.

I will find 1 sprint or hillclimb to add to the list per month too so any would be competitors can plan something where there will be other club members taking part hopefully.
Alpines - GTA 3.0 Turbo, GTA 3.0 Inj (Project DD), GTA 6.2 V8 (500 bhp) , R32 Skyline GTR, BMW Alpina B10 635 Highline, Alpina B10 E39 5 Series, Jaguar 4.2 XKR, Laguna 205GT, BMW 120d.
