Just sold a GS300 twin turbo. Great car, I would reiterate everything Simon says about the brand. Main downer for me was the sheer size, lot of country lanes I use near me to avoid the traffic but the width of it made it difficult to get passed oncoming traffic without putting the mirrors in the hedgerows!

I don't find the LS that big, but then again previous daily car was an rOver 820. Anyway the LS is a sedate relaxing sumptous silent luxurious ride , and the size helps let others know that you have presence on the road.

Juzz, have you got a new motor yet?
I've got a business meeting in Wigan tomorrow, 480 mile round trip and it's bound to be a comfy one.

No, not yet. But I'm starting to sway away from the Lexus and towards a Jag XJ now! :P I'll drive both when the time comes though before deciding for certain.

The Mondeo.... sorry XJ has 'iffy' write ups in the press...

Can't say much about Wigan, or "Wigan Pier".
Anyway, the drive was excellent and as for the M6 toll road, £3.50 is steep, but it was empty so I made best use of the racing line.
An XJ heh, after all it is a propoer Englishman's car, Le Mans pedigree too.

Indeed, as David says, I'm not talking about a 'Mondeo in drag' X-Type nonsense! I mean the 'proper' big Jag XJ. Probably '96 on XJ6 3.2 or 4.0 rather than the newer v8s. Jags from the Ford era onwards are apparently much better built and more reliable than previous and did well in customer satisfaction surveys. Still similar to the Lexus in terms of lots of leather, lots of toys, auto and rear wheel drive. Basically a big comfy barge with lots of buttons to keep me amused in jams! :D

Juzz, for Jams there is the stereo too, 6 stack CD in the dash, Awsesome clarity and deafening volume. Have a look an an A8 too, I'm told they are of the same class.

I had to go to Wigan again today. What a lovely drive, over 500 miles in a day and still some juice left in the tank, but not much.
I detoured back past your place, some nice green fields inbetween the factory plants, along the M56, Chester, Wrexham, Wolverhampton and back onto the M6 at the home of Jenson.

There are lots of green fields around here and a few good roads for taking the Alpine for a blast! :D Pity all you see of Runcorn from the Motorway is lots of chemical plants! I'm not knocking it though! :P
