Big brakes

Postby peterg » Sun Apr 09, 2006 6:51 pm

I have the front brake upgrade from DG.....looks awesome....will be fitting it tomorrow all going well. Sadly the rears cant be so easily converted to the upgraded spec....so I am praying the fronts dont lock without the rear upgrade.

The rears should also have been done, but there was a clearance problem so DG is looking at 4 pot callipers instead of bigger discs....I dont think they will be arriving anytime soon though..he has the twin turbo conversion and the ECU on the go. I am hoping that the fronts will do the job on their own. My camera is working just fine...will try and post some shots....but realistically its just gonna be some brake discs and callipers that looks standard bar the diameter of the discs!!!!!

I think the rears are worth doing, as Renault intended the diameter to be the same all round, but the stupid Renault rear calipers are difficult to space out without very large discs, and then the caliper won't work on that size disc anyway.

I know Steves monster brake kit had to have bigger discs at the rear aswell for clearance issues.

We should have a piccy section for mods and sillyness , not too serious , just things people have done to ruin their previously mint motors .
