Electrikery or Drybollicks

Postby clee » Sat Apr 15, 2006 4:54 pm

The Audi is playing up  The ABS warning light is on ,but all seems OK + it is very difficult to put it into park ,both happened at the same time .Once stopped ,in park ,you can't get the key out and have to take it out of park to remove the key :?
You have to put your foot on the brake to engage drives so I was wondering if it's an electrical problem :?: :? :?

Sounds odd, but, In the Lexus one can only get out of Park with your foot on the brake, a safety feature. Mind you, at least I can get the key out when in Park, actually it will ONLY come out when in Park.

Sounds elecrical related to me.
What about resetting the car's ECU (s)? Normally this can be done by removing the battery for a few hours, or overnight, unless the vorsprungdorch has another techneque.

Sounds like the car has fault speed signal to the ecu (thinks its still driving) hence why it won't let you park, or take the key out..

don't go too deep too quick.......

check the fuses to abs first..... and if ok, try out your abs...... if it works ok then suspect something else........you know someone with a diagnostic pod? get one hooked up and see if you get any error codes before you stat ripping the thing apart  will save you alot of time and stress and probably money in the end but don't take it to a dealer.....big££££

Tried the Audi owners club, you never know.... there may be some helpfull on-line chaps, probably not as good as the Alpine Gurus though.
