ALPINE RENAULTS TO TAKE A TOUR OF NORTH OF ENGLAND
More than 30 Alpine Renaults from six countries are to take part in a tour of the north of England to celebrate the 35th anniversary of Alpine winning the European Rally Championship for Makes. The tour takes place from 1 to 6 May 2006, starting at the Beverley Arms Hotel, Beverley, and finishing in Kellington, North Yorkshire. The route, which is designed as a scenic six-day tour, will take the cars via Bamburgh in Northumberland, Kelso on the Scottish Borders, Kielder Forest, Middleton-in-Teesdale, Alston, Ravenglass and Windermere in Cumbria, and York. The event is organised by a special tour committee of the UK’s Club Alpine Renault.
With participants from France, Belgium, Germany, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Switzerland and Britain, the group represents various Alpine types built from the mid 1960s to the mid 90s.
