boost is ok, but hardly any vacuum at idle.
I think I'm going to swap the plastic tube for a rubber pipe. I'm suspicous that the hot turbo gasses are making the tube warm and then it is cooling in a deflated flat state.

Normally you find it gets hot, then the engine vacuum sucks it flat and it stays there...then it will expand on boost, and then shrink back flat the moment you let of the throttle, hence the slow 'off boost' reading..

Could be the cause ,the car was very hot when I noticed it .Will check from cold .

Problem now is, since the car has cooled, the tube has also cooled ...... in it's flattened state. Tomorrow you will probably see boost, but not much vacuum, just like mine.

Er, how?

Have you got the boost gauge plumbed into the DV vacuum feed?

remember that lee's plenums and intercooler seem to collect oil, probably from the turbo, oil vapour condensing...... or straight oil?

I have cleaned the intercooler and was suprised how little residue there was :? The car only smokes from dead cold so mayhap the first blart shifts it .I know the loss of vac was down to the DV gunk as it has returned after the clean ,now reading as new .The wiper seal is showing signs of wear ,little teeny bits of rubber string .Anyroad-up ,at least it's all still in the place it should be ,not in bits on the front drive
