just for the record, the Brakes International part number is CSC3111 and it arrived in a Bendix box, labelled as 511525B and F:L651525, priced at £41 +VAT.

when i fitted the clutch master cylinder the other week and bled the system every thing seemed fine(very easy to get gears) but after driving it around for a while (engine up to temp) it started to get harder to get into gear and the clutch seemed to be biting a lot lower so i bled the system again and it was fine again until the engine got upto temp it isnt loosing fluid
any ideas????

just waiting for the flywheel to be refaced and a bit more cleaning to do and an A610 clutch fork. Won't be long...... I hope.

What fluid are you using :?: My 2nd gear always get nasty when the thing is hot .

Oh yes, I have to be firm with her in 2nd too.

Isnt this something to do with heat from the exhaust manifold radiating onto the hydraulic clutch pipes :?:

GT5 I have the same problem......except I also have some air in the system. Ive replace the slave now and will be putting it all back together with extra heat shielding soon.....as it is I'm not sure it was the slave so I'm going to look at the master next. How much was your replacement master?

i paid dave gentlmen £30 for a second hand item,renault wanted £112 :lol: im using dot 4 fluid i have never had probs with any of the gears except reverse until now

How much for a set of secondhand coilovers :?:
I think my car needs to come of the road soon ,driveshafts :?: bearings and a few bits more I suspect .I was hoping it would last till the RTOC meet at Brunters but it don't sound like it .
Time ,money and sore back ahead .I really would kill for a garage :!: But :idea: I shall be erecting a gazebo on the front drive + then I can flog my balls off whilst I'm sloging my balls off :!:

Stuck record time, but I've said it before Dot 5.1 is much better and compatible with the car and Dot 3 & 4. ie. it's not silicone based like Dot 5.

You'd still need to totally empty out all the old fluid though to get the benefits but any residue isn't gonna cause grief.

Minimal specs:
Dry Boiling Point Wet Boiling Point
DOT 3 205°C (401°F) 140°C (284°F)
DOT 4 230°C (446°F) 155°C (311°F)
DOT 5 260°C (500°F) 180°C (356°F)
DOT 5.1 270°C (518°F) 191°C (375°F)

230°C v 270°C.
I'm just here for the gasoline.

The dot 4 I use is supposedly higher temp rated than 5 .I will dig the bumph out .Or ask the Oilman for details :wink:
