Back to the point I know what you're saying. What I wondered was more like taking the bonnet off and using it as a mould to create a newer lighter version. Full carbon-fibre would be cool and be ultra light weight but probably 300+ quid, if you had the liner made up in carbon too you'd save a lot of weight.
Wasn't there talk of a carbon fibre rear bumper at some point?

I thought it was vented, which is why some cabins have a whiff of fuel in then.... a vented tank, under the bonnet, where the blower is constantly flowing air into the cabin. Hardly surprising that there is a whiff of fuel?
