Instrument Binnacle removal

I have the frnt of the binnacle off but can't disconnect the two connector boxes at either side is there a special tool do you just wiggle them from side to side or am I missing something (a brain)
help please can't find anything in search.

Just pull the plugs off (or if you want to leave them, there are a couple of very small cross-head screws holding them to the binnacle.

They can be pretty stiff, but should come off. Try prising them slightly with a jewellers screwdriver first. Be careful not to break the circuit board.

Wow this is fun, why is everything connected by a hidden screw to another hidden screw. The binnacle is off undoing the 2 bolts from underneath it seems that to get what I want done I will be left with a shell and no interior. I started by removing the trim above the rear window.
Are the front demist vents screwed in place by other screws or do you just tug & tug.
Boy I hope it goes back together easier than it has disassembled. Last time I did anything like this I ended up with a jam jar full of bits.

Takes me less than 5 mins to remove my binnacle
Mind you, I've had heaps of practice - cos the connectors for the speedo keep going awol and periodically I clean the contacts up

If you are looking straight at the binnacle which are the connectors?

It depends if you want it all to squeek when it's re-assembled...

It did anyway who ever put it back together last time used odd headed screws etc perhaps by missing a few out it won't.
I have a complete light grey headlining if any body wants to replace, the foam backing is a little brittle but other than that it is fine.

Passenger air vents how do you get them out the usual pull, push, prise or am I missing something again.

Hah sorted it you have to take the whole dash out to take the vents out simple really

The binnacle was ok , the easy bit was taking it all out and as I suspected I seem to have a few bits left over but what the hell for windscreen wipers read lights, close the windows and the doors open
