Drive shaft oil seals

Anyone done them? I may be taking the lot out again next week and intend to sort them whilst its on the floor....prt no.s????
Before anyone says anything...its not the pins and sealing...thats been done!

I thought the title of 'drive shaft oil seals' would have been the give away!!!!!

Apparently not :roll: never seen one let alone change it .My guess is it seals the oil in the driveshaft somewhere :lol:

I had a cursory look at mine while the gearbox was out. They seemed quite solind in the box, I sort of suspected that they would be inserted from the inside of the gear box, so I left well alone!

see page 21 of the gear box manual.
LOL for those that know, all the pages are marked as "21", so I guess that is the manual number.

Just after 1/2 way through there is a page titled "DIFFERENTIAL SEALS Replacing". it says yo need some special tools, maybe you can hire them from a renault stealer for the price of a few bottles of liguid refreshment.

Mmm I thought from looking that they were an easy sort...metal collar held on with a bolt and that was it!

it might look like that on one side of the box..........have a look at the other ????
It will be a lot easyier to see (and do) once the box it out I guess.

easy on the 610, pull the old one out, touch of oil on the new one, push it in and no more gear oil leaks :D

Are they not the same gearbox...thought they were both UN1? Apart from the supposed special tool for the GTA it seems easy...theres always a way round special tools!!!

UN1 in the 610 so it should be just as easy on the GTA.........whats the special tool for? I pulled my old one out with my finger and put the new one in with a big socket and a rubber mallet
