Forrestburn on Sunday! Scary climb with blind crests, walls and a rock face on a hairpin....hope I come back in one piece! Its got a very good entry...Ive managed to blag a place in the 'marque sports car' class....how posh!!!! Looking at the entry list I am aiming for a class win, although the Scots will all be on sticky tyres.....fingers crossed! Whats annoying is they changed the day from Saturday to Sunday, so I now have a 10 hour shift at work to look forward to when I get back....heres hoping its quiet...I'll be lucky to stay awake

Good luck peter. I'm at Castle Coombe on Sat 1st July in a class of 15.
If I make it into the top 10 I'll be pleased...... may be I'm better off at aiming to beat just the cars that are older than mine and not even thinking about the evo's scubby's porkers and the noble.

Terrible day for weather! Poured down for most of it, but i made the one dry run in the afternoon count and won my class in championship and at the event...then went home as the rain started to fall again! Off to work now. Thanks to Peter (Alpiniste) for coming to watch....and the thought...he brought me sticky tyres :D on a set of A610 wheels

It's a heatwave down here.... My garden would get up and walk up north if it knew about the rain (and it wasn't dead already....).

Excellent result. It almost sounds like you'll have the championship tied up with rounds to spare. :!:

well done peter, but I thought A610 wheels were 5 stud.
I had an enjoyable day at Castle Coome yesterday, got beaten by the evos, scoobys and an m3 coupoe and we all got our asses whipped by the m12 noble (who also suffers heat saturation).

I thought  was because sticky tyres would have been good in the dry, and it was wet.

I think peter trails his GTA to some events, so should not be that big a problem, but some regs don't allow really sticky tyres for production car classes.

Yes...five stud wheels! I dont have a second set of wheels with stickies on because I havent got the cash (yet!!). The Scots have very odd classes that allow stickies on road cars and stripped interiors. They also run road saloons and road sport classes instead of the normal single road car class. Road sports includes things like Caterhams...very odd...thankfully they also have marque sports cars to allow me to win :D
Cumbria also had heat wave type weather yesterday....it was just that strip of Scotland where we were that got heavy rain all day. Typical!
Yes I do trailer to events...makes crashing a lot easier
How did you get on Simon?

Good photos of my event....particularly this one I thought

The rest of the gallery (all the cars) is good too.

Castle Coombe was enjoyable.
beaten by the 2 scoobys, 2 evos an M3 coupe (veteren competitor) and we were all whooped by a Noble M12-3. I beat the scimiter GTE, E type, TVR and two TR7V8s.
Sort of finished in car-age-order.
Drama on the way home, handed back my air filter on exit from circuit (it fell off on last run), used 10 gallons of Optimax in 170 miles(only 8 miles on circuit) and lost reverse, 1st and 2nd gear and gear stick return spring. Probably a linkage problem, but too hot to look at it so far.
