Is the super dooper twin scroll turbo for the set up you are designing or will it bolt onto the current GTA set up?

Yes, it will bolt on to the normal GTA manifold flange. The actuator is in a different location (hence you can't keep the traditional heatsheilds - not a problem for you Pete), and you can either have an adaptor to fit your existing downpipe, or have a new one made up slightly larger..

20psi + no problems, and in maximum compressor efficiency at this level, larger exhaust turbine housing, larger wastegate and downpipe outlet which will simply allow the engine to breathe harder. Best coupled with an ECU to make full benefits..:wink:

Its your final step really Peter, you have every thing else, though you will need the much larger injectors at that level. Not quite my 650cc units, but 400's would be a good match...

lol, I forgot, and the benefit of twin scroll....

Basically, as the turbo is fed by a gas pulse at a time from the engine, on a traditional turbo, that one pulse has to fill and travel down the turbo housing in order to spin the turbine wheel. With the twin scroll divided flange setup, the housing is divided into two, so the pulse (from one cylinder head bank) has to fill a void only half the size of the normal housing, before it hits the turbine wheel thus getting there faster and with more energy..

You can think of it as like having twin turbos so the exhaust gas from each bank is kept seperate, but they both end up hitting the same wheel, so all the exhaust gas energy from the whole engine spins one turbine instead of being shared across two.

Surely this means that the exhaust manifold entering the turbo has to be a "dual" too. I'm guessing that it is just 1 big one in standard form? Perhaps this "adaptor" you mention creates the seperation?

I think the firing order is 1- 6- 3- 5- 2- 4 which seems good because then the exhaust pulses are coming from alternate banks individually.

Less lag has got to be good, it could be worth half a second for every corner exited, or every time we are off boost (asuming that you will need to be on-boost shortly).

Nope, if you pull your turbo off, you will see the manifold flange on the car has a divider seperating each bank..., at least Renault did something semi-right! :lol:

It won't be less lag than standard, as even though the housing is divided, as the size of the housing is much bigger than standard (0.78 a/r instead of 0.36), but this allows a big gain in power, simply because the exhaust side is far less restricted..

0.78 is actually larger than what is running as standard on the A610 (0.63)

Price £650, plus a little for the downpipe adaptor if required. Available now...

This turbo is non water cooled, so bear that in mind - late water cooled GTAs will need the water feed blocking off...

Sounds good....would a different down pipe be better than the adaptor? Will the lack of water cooling not be a problem?
Wont be doing it for this year....will work a lot better with the ECU....and without the driver worrying about his debts!!! :lol:

Yes, a larger downpipe would be better, but then it would need downsizing to match your exhaust. Then again, I could make you a new single exit exhaust with new downpipe in one...

Water cooling is not a problem. Manufacturers designed this years ago, to help with longevity of the core of the turbo due to the fact that people were not letting their turbos cool down before turning the car off.

Its not a problem, and on a GTA you can hardly call any water system 'cooling' :lol:
