I glad you like it,
The whole film sequence was done over all practice and timed runs during the June meetings, and those who are eagled eyed will spot that the rear angle shot of the start is perfect, but it then switches to front shot where I fluffed the start and the car lurches slightly.
Peter, the puff of smoke is probably from a brief moment of fuel starvation during a practice run, as I don't run a swirl pot (yet) and may have just misjudged the fuel level.
I didn't win over that weekend but I did set a new PB.

I am sprinting at Goodwood tomorrow.
My class has a Mitsu GTO, M3, cossie and scooby, which should be entertaining if it is raining. other classes include an audi sport quatro, 911, TR3, fords, morgan, ginetta g33, and a load of TVRs.
The regs state "no spectators", but if you want to come along and watch, I am car 18 in garage 18. Do not park on the grass, there is plenty of hard standing areas, so the regs say.

If anyone fancys a really fast sprint, you should do Goodwood, fast enough for my sluggish GTA to get into 5th. The Caterham/Wesfield bunch were maxed out at 120ish, but I could'nt take my eyes off the track after 130.

Very well organised and suitably equiped for the English climate too.

Unfortunately.....5th in class, beaten by a 400bhp cossie, 300bhp scooby, a Masseratti bi-turbo and M3 which were being driven by a pair of ex-saloon car racers from the 60s so they know all the corners.

A "little" video footage may follow shortly.

Another good day out in the old girl !

Well done Simon, I bet the Cosworth was the black RS 500 from Gurston. If it was he normally does mid 90's laps and knows the circuit very well.
What times did you manage today? as on my first go around Goodwood I done a 135 second lap including a perfect "j" turn between St Mary’s and Lavent  But on my last run that day I was allocated 115s which included a 10s penalty for jumping the green light (which I couldn't see) at the start line. :o

Yes it was Les Beering and his black cossie, seriously fast, 94 secs and he said that was slow for him.
I did 111.3, 111.0 & 110.3, all going in the right direction, and no spins or massive power slides either.

Out playing again today in the second visit of the British hillclimb championship to Gurston with an acceptable result of 2nd out of six in class, and only 0.33s off my PB time.
The practice runs yesterday & this morning were inconstant but I got my self together when it counted and posted a 38.99s but this was not enough as first place was taken by worthy opponent in a Reliant Scimitar with a 39.78s (A new PB for him) on the last timed runs.
Simon, I believe that Les Beerling in the RS 500 broke a gearbox at Goodwood as he crossed the line? Well to further his transmission problems the diff failed on the first timed runs off the start line today

Probably not, as RED21 races in a modified class.
