Porsche Wheels

Postby David Gentleman » Wed Aug 23, 2006 11:28 am

Ive been trying hard for the last couple of weeks working out how to fit the Porsche softline 5 spoke wheels onto a GTA as in this pic..(but without drillng new hubs, discs etc...)

Image

..but now it is possible to fit 17" x 8 on the front and 10" x 18" on the rear with custom billet hubadaptors all round which convert the two stud patterns..

Not cheap - should be £1050 for a set of 4 wheels including all hardware, but it does make a change from the usual wheels you see. :D

Your opinions..., does it look good?

I read the thread title, opened the post, saw the picture and did not realise it was not a Porsche to start with. Assumed it was a 928 at a glance.

Really nice, can I trade my AZEVs in with you?

Yes, they are lighter than the Azevs, but is it worth the swap.

To put it into context, a set of Azevs is 18 Kgs heavier in total than the original wheels. Pro Race wheels are lighter, but not what I call a 'light' wheel, they are probably about 10kgs in total weight more than the original...

In comparison, every gallon of fuel is nearly 3 kgs...

In the grand scheme of things, yes, the Azevs are heavier, but its hardly going to affect performance - that comes more from slightly increasing the rolling radius..

If you don't mind having a 4 stud wheel on the front and a 5 stud one on the back, I can do almost anything...
