Hi all

it must be a summer thing i just done the suspension and lower arms on the rear and 8 bushes and mine just started creaking

Yes, anti roll bar bushes (wishbone) are, and if you have a late GTA, with revised later shocks, they have rubber bushes with a one piece metal insert, instead of the usual two part top hat nylon type..

All the others (except top outer - rubber cased again) are a nylon based bush.

The problem with the way the wishbones mount to the chassis, is if you do them up too tight, the mounting lugs simply pull tight and grip the wishbone, making it harder to move up and down - come the summer and it all gets a bit tighter.. :?

i have replaced over 40 of the top hat type, top and bottom rear arm bushes!

the centre of the bush is designed to turn/rotate in the outer bush housing, there is also red grease between the inner and outer housings.
when this dries out or is worn away then they squeak!

most are worn to the point that there is freeplay between the insert and the outer of the bush, resulting in clunky suspension and poor handling.

others are either seized (poor handling and solid suspension) or partialy seized also resulting in squeaks!

shocks can also squeak when they are on the way out.

I would hightly recommend NOT putting WD40 on the creaking roll bar bush.....mine is 10 times worse since the addition of said lubricant :roll:

I was wrong it does creak while driving :x :x Damn it :!: Never really noticed it untill it was brought to my attention thanks :!: :( . only kidding :wink: but i know how to cure it :idea: turn my music up louder :P but then i cant hear my sports exhaust :( Alpine God please help :|
never really ever thought that i would own a gta, but am i happy that i do!!.

yes i got that dam annoying noise also from my NSR. tried lube (on the car that is) but it still creaks
i had my 1st A610 back in 1994 a yellow 1 J457JTP now i own a blue 1 M610 BLX since 1997.

FORGOT MY OLD LOGIN DETAILS SO REGISTERED AS LAMBOMAN BUT WILL STICK WITH andythecroc

creak n handling

i have experienced some kind of "skitishness" from the rear end of my a610 and this creaky squeaky noise, all since i had the engine removed to repair my gearbox.

what do i need to do to solve this problem also the garage lost the front and rear drip tray/skid pans. would this cause some chinks in the cars stability??

has any one got any relacements please??

How nasty a job is it to replace the bushes and are they available? My rear suspension didn't budge an inch when I undid the shockers the other day so I'm guessing that the bushes are well knackered.

I'm also experiencing some strange sensations from the rear end (gnarf gnarf) - especially when its wet - feels like the rear wheel alignment is a bit wonky. I'm thinking its best to get the bushes all sorted first before going down the alignment route.

rear bush replacement can be quite tricky as the bolts are normally seized into the centre of the bush.

if you have access to air tools then the job is a little easier as the air tools have a hammer action.

if not then you have to cut the heads off the bolts and buy new ones.

Ive just built up a new chassis for my car, and replaced every bolt in a stainless alternative. Washers too, as non of the originals are washered and chew up the paint when done up tight. Not cheap when you add them all up, but should last another 20 years.. :D

Well jealose ( thats the french way to spell it--------thats my excuse and i"m sticking to it ) :?
