Andy i wouldnt even dream of entering a slagging off reply on here, the topic was about T2 BHP and increasing bhp safely with additions of water injection ect, there are other forums not car/Renault related for that :wink: It seems like most of the guys on here are really helpful when it comes to advice, what forums are all about.

I best register another user name on here to save any confusion with GT5 (GTA V6 Turbo) the younger Steve in the family :)

Saying that, you didnt reply to how did the Alpine V6's do? :)

I'm glad you wouldn't dream of slagging off the spider, why not all constructive critiscism is worth reading. and there's many a man on this forum who loves a good argument :lol: :lol: ..... so where are the compliments for the spider for starters :?:

I dunno how th alpine V6s did....but i know one got pranged in the chicane though and chomped some straw bales..... a calberson 310 in nice but not so nice condition now :oops:

The wife did drive the Spider :) but isnt called Stevie :lol: the only car i dare trust her driving :wink:(not to much power for her) It handled and stoped well but oh so slow :D Maybe a age thing but i didnt like the attention i used to get, more so when it got a lot of comments about it been a girls car,
A nice car for the summer months though, and a looker if your in your 20's but a mans car i think not :D (not that im sexist) and not saying your a girl Andy :lol: honest :lol:

Funny thing is with cars and age of drivers, i reckon most GTA drivers will be in there 40's :?: think Steve (GT5) might have been happier with the RX7 and me with the GTA (Which i like!!!!!!)

I reckon the Spider is just a little/lot under powered to be a hairy chested sports car :lol: maybe not a hairdressers car like the TR7 was known in the early 80's but close,

S--- what was i saying about the post subject been the T2's power or lack of it :oops:

right , i'm back off holiday :D . The only reason a turbo two won't make as much power easily as a gt turbo does is the fuel system ( k-jet tronic ) , and the intercooler position ( shit ) . You could ruin the cars originality and fit a gt turbo carb and change/move the intercooler position etc and it will make 200 bhp on 15 psi of boost . After this you need steel liners and forged pistons for engine saftey reasons as the standard liners start cracking etc .

Still puzled though how does the GTT get away with running higher boost re; steel liners and forged pistons?

one water injection nozzle is enough because the water vapourises into the airstream in the intercooler . It will cool the temp of the air in the t2 intercooler and it won't cool one cylinder more than the others because the valves are not all open at the same time as each other . The water will keep misting into the intercooler all the time that the boost pressure is at the preset setting and as the different inlet valves open and close a constant temp will enter each cylinder . A T2 engine will not run as much boost for as long as a gt turbo because of the problems of charge temp and extra fuel control needed , the gt turbo liners will still crack at high boost levels the same as T2 ones will . The fact is that with correct fueling at the higher boost levels and the lower charge temps a gt turbo engine will survive for that bit longer . Put a gt turbo engine in the T2 position with its intercooler etc and it too will blow up that much faster !!!

Maybe...things have progressed quite far now, and its all about setup, and even though a carb is basic compared to efi, they can get a 'safer' setup by excess fuel dumping. The fastest GT turbo is running nearly 40psi on standard liners and the bottom end is the same as the T2.

You're not sounding too good, best to take a recover day off work. You will be a lot fresher for next week then. The F1 collection at Donnington is not to be missed, and not just F1 stuff either, all sorts, varied and interesting.

Apart from the head is everything the same? its really strange this 15 psi life or death thing and its younger brother(GTT) is fine(ish) :?
