Loton is a VERY challenging hillclimb, even more so in the wet. About 11 corners, some kinks, blind brows and very close to some killer obsticacles. After the first run, I thought I was mad, then the motorbikes and side car classes went up the hill. Not overly suited to a turbo, unless you are brave enough to gun it all the way, but another great day out. I wonder how an atmo would get on, as some of the morgans were quick an they seemed to be relying on the torque rather than the high revs.

A wee silent movie courtesy of clee at the start line, managed 2.35 for the 64ft mark, That is as fast as the 4x4 scoobys off the line.

Don't be fooled, it was not sunny all day and the GTA seemed very twitchy in the wet.

Probably 3rd in Class of 6, as 3 cars failed to show.
Basically I was up against a 3.9 Litre Capri and a 1.8 supercharged BMW Mini, both of whoom have regularly competed on this hill..... for the last 20 years or so.

Last sprint event for my season is Lydden this Saturday. Lydden is just off the A2 half way between Canterbury and Dover and the event is just for the morning, circuit racing takes place in the afternoon.
http://www.multimap.com/map/browse.cgi?client=public&X=650000.683437794&Y=150000.026838033&width=700&height=400&gride=626353.683437794&gridn=145417.026838033&srec=0&coordsys=gb&db=w3&addr1=&addr2=&addr3=&pc=&advanced=&local=&localinfosel=&kw=&inmap=&table=&ovtype=&keepicon=true&zm=0&scale=200000&left.x=6&left.y=144

Other Alpines booked in are Tim Jeffries in his A610 and Pete Ellens in his A110. Also a 5GTT and Clio 2.0 will be competing amounst about 50 other various entries.

I have 4 spare entrance tickets, BUT the regs say that they can NOT be left at the gate. I'll be busy on the day, so you will need them in advance. I can post them out, but that will have to be done tomorrow afternoon at the latest. Entrance is normally about £6-£12 on the gate.

I can't make it, but I can recommend Lydden. It's a good place to spectate (weather allowing). It's like a smaller version of brands where you can see 80% of the track. :)

And the bacon baggettes are very reasonable by circuit standards....

doing ok, was 2nd in class for the champ before today, but now dropped to 3rd overall out of 6. Not bad for a first season.
Lydden today, great circuit in a bowl like Brands and fast too. I beat a P reg M3 CSL but was beaten by the carrera gt3rs and evos and another M3 with 360bhp.
I was also only 1 second behind an A610 which has been round Lydden many times before.

As for being beaten by a mini, it was a BMW cooper supercharged ONE, driven by a hillclimber of 40 years, on his home ground, so no big deal really.

What is the farthest south you come peter?
