It gets worse :( I think it's time for a rebuild .Took the plugs out and they are sooty as F*** left hand bank and the right is wet on two and sooty .Add to this the oil out the dipstick and the permanent oily plenums
and running rich and Ive found some rust holes in the wishbones and one of the turrets ............................................
So I've made the decision, its coming out 120K is a good old run though so not to disheartened

Oh the joy! It will give you something to do and its not that hard, nothing on the GTA is, its just basic mechanics....but it can take a while and hurts your hands!!!! Are you getting another engine or re-building what youve got?

Rebuild what I've got , any engine out there is going to be a high mileage unknown so no advantage .My problem is where to do it ,no garage ,car sits on gravel drive ,not good when you drop ya nuts .
I will strip it down as far as I can in-situ ,it's not moving under its own steam so when I find somewhere I can trailer it .The old TR6 boy across the road was on about sharing a little unit for the like .

Here's a titbit of info, do you know the last letter in the engine code above goes up according to engine size, so U is the smallest to X which is the largest, and the 6 means oddfire and 7 means evenfire...
