Door catch

Postby red leo » Tue Oct 10, 2006 5:22 pm

:( :( :( :(
Driving very slowly down the A2 and the passenger door pops open and will now not close, any ideas on the problem and cure.
The latch will not drop into place.
If I disconnect the electricals will it stay shut on manual?

Sounds like it's spun to far round IYSWIM .
Try using a screwdriver shaft to reset it .

Dont know if this helps, but when I first got my Alpine none of the electric door releases were working, I took the solenoids out and primed them with a very light lubricant which I use on my bike GT85 the reason for that is because it does not attract dust like WD40. I then tested it and it all worked perfect. :D

Well it all got progressively worse I was eventually locked out of the car and had to be assisted by an inventive AA man  I stripped it all down greased / sprayed etc etc now it locks on the alarm but the manual locks are iffy so I just leave it unlocked
