***pats head*** I know, dear  :-) Actually the 24v cams come out towards the timing chain end. Very useful in a transverse car..... not

The ability to remove the back end is very handy which it comes to things related to rocker arms because you can slide out the bar and change out rockers -and- access the camshaft - but not to remove it. I've never said you can change the cams in the car, you can't without cutting holes. But you can change the cams without taking the heads off if you have the engine out and you remove the rockers. We went through a phase of eating rockers on our stage II engine and changed out several sets this way.

I spoke to Kent on the phone today.....they are aiming to do me cams with 240 degree duration and an extra 1/2 mm of lift.....a nice compromise that shouldnt effect the turbo lag too much. Have had a few problems with the new engine......there is some damage to the liners, so I'm back to plan A - of re-building my own engine again!
I'm sending the crack, pistons and pulley off for balancing and the flywheel for lightening and balancing.

You'll find your ideal "unit" here I think:

and a bargain heater or 2 to go with it

I see now why you need somewhere to work - but wouldn't it be nice for the people coming to view the house next door to see a rare Renault in pieces? A unique selling point I'm sure, having some old engine bits lying around in the garden next door.

I suppose the living room is out of bounds with dirty overalls on?
