Intended Prosecution

Postby red leo » Tue Oct 17, 2006 4:12 pm

Into each day a little ray of sunshine must fall. I have just received a ' NOTICE OF INTENDED PROSECUTION' and I quote I have exceeded the speed limit of 50mph at a speed of 43mph :?
I thought this was a windup or some new scam but it all seems legit.

...and then ask for costs. They will award them to you. This includes a day off in lieu (get proof from your employer how much a day of your time is worth), mileage at govt approved rates (something like 29p/mile).

Oh, and tell the papers.

And if you wouldn't mind posting it at www.pepipoo.com that'd be great :-)

Yes, that would be sensible....waste a whole load of his own and other taxpayer's money!!!!!! The whole system is screwed up and it isnt about to change cause of a day in mags court, and I doubt the papers would really be interested in a case like that involving a typo......reply, point out the error and ask them to confirm they wont be proceeding with it.....but wait until the 14 days are up in case you get another correct one!!!!

Im not so sure it is a typo it really is a 50 limit in that area but I am going to check tomorrow. What is most concerning is that I did not spot the van / guys that clocked me . I don't usually speed in built up area's
