Cossie Piston Upgrade ???

Search and you will find!!!!! Sierra Cossie are the right size but need the gudgeon pin hole bored out. They aint cheap either!

They might be if you know a man @ Graham Goodes and have a discount card and can get them bored out for nowt 8)
What advantage over Std Renault ??

Yes, its just a 'general' term. Accralite can build an exact piston for the V6, and with better (and cheaper) rings than the standard Renault ones...

Looking about £125 a piece..

You wouldnt use standard Cosworth pistons, only forged, and then you can get whatever spec and design you want...

You'd copy the original piston design, but lower the compression ratio to say 8:1, and have ring lands machined with the more optimum ring design thickness and use some modern technology rings..

The original Cosworth pistons are just cast, and not much cheaper than forged brand new...

One of the French companies sells a set of forged cossie pistons ready to fit.....but they are 2000 euros (or was it 1500...either way...not cheap!).
What youve got to ask is whether its worth it for the car, the money and what you do. If youre building a race engine then it might just be....otherwise I would say not.

The piston/liner bits from Simon Auto are £700 odd quid so it might be worth doing if they need replacing ,but it's all adding up to a point where I could buy a whole new car for less + I get all fresh new headaches to pay for :lol: :lol:

I calculated them to be around the £800 mark. Check what is/iasnt wrong first. If your pistons are that bad you'll probably need liners too!

I think my pistons etc are OK but you never know .Can the liners be bored ever so slightly, 0.20ish, if they are scored ? Cost effectively ??
