pvr 24v

does anyone know if a 3.0 24v (rebuilt) will hold for more than a week with a turbo on (low boost) :roll: ? i am looking for 240-260 bhp.

I bet if you ask him he will have one somewhere amongst the scrap........ i bet he's seen a cloudy vison of a 400 bhp spider in there also .......

the only spider i know of with 400 bhp is a 360 spider :lol:

maybe he's going into ferraris :oops:

does anyone know if a 3.0 24v (rebuilt) will hold for more than a week with a turbo on (low boost) ? i am looking for 240-260 bhp.


Should give 230-240 without boost de-cat, manifolds and remap.

If you want to run boost without lowering the compression then fit a supercharger. Should be good for up to around 7psi on standard compression.

I can do you a 400bhp Spider engine Andy....

Exchange too, as theyre already built up...... :wink:

As for the 24v, who knows?, it depends how well you do the conversion..

Nope, my partner in crime at the new premises has been an F7R Turbo specialist for the last 10 years, and since he has been using my products on the engines, seemed a good point to join forces... :wink:

Doesnt matter if you go 250bhp or 400 package, the bottom end and engine is built to the same spec. Its up to you what spec manifolds, turbo, fueling and intercooling and management you want to go for in relation to what power level you want..

I can even supply a new bellhousing adaptor to fit the F7R to the UN1 gearbox... 8)

Would you like to see an aspiring dyno plot? :lol:

There's also the option of the newer F4R as used in the 172 Clio and Megane 225, with the option of binning the original 225 restrictive exhaust manifold, turbo and fly by wire throttle, and turbocharging that with better spec componentry. Even on low boost, high compression, 250bhp is available minimum with only 5 psi of boost.

Nope, aspiring means to 'wanting to copy', mythical means it 'doesnt exist'... 8) :lol: Do you honestly believe that the F7 and F4R can't hit good power?

Remember to fit the 225 lump you are going to need a new ecu, modified inlet manifold, and new throttle body.. :)

aspring is a spring init?
:lol:

i know the 2.0 clio engines can hit decent BHP but there is a limit to reliability and it's no good if it's got the reliability of an F1 engine

thanks for letting me know about all the stuff i need for the megane lump.... i never knew that..... i thought you could just plug it straight in damn don't think i'll bother now :cry:

ahhhh to much input... if i lower the comp. will the engien (3.0 24v) keep up with some boost 0.5-0,6 bar ? i have just change headgasket (2,5 turbo) and the heads were done and fitted back in.... but it only lasted a week, then the bad bad noise of a piston hitting a valve started.... f.... bearings has been damage from the water in the engien.... i got a cheap offer on the 24v and thought it would be easy`er/cheaper than the rebuilt of my 2,5..... but i will not do it without some turbo boost... it is a alpine turbo and i will keep it that way..

Just seen David`s post of 1 Nov and compared the rolling road test with my 24 valve.

At 210 km/h along the horizontal axis, the graph line goes well past 240 KW on the vertical axis and just touches the top of the graph area. Sanspeed said this equated to 225 bhp at 6500 rpm.

The engine internals are standard apart from no balancing shaft!, no cat, custom made tubular manifolds & exhaust.

Iain has a standard 24V from a 605 in his GTA, so this will give you some idea of the power.

You can't use the turbo set up from the 2.5 GTA turbo on the 3.0 24V. Neither the inlet or exhaust manifolds will fit.
