A good day for snorkeling in Surrey today.
Can not imagine what it would be like in Cumbria?

I thought that you had to use new ones irrespective of what type of head gasket you use. I think they are designed to stretch a little during the various torquing up stages.

Haynes Manual for Ren25 V6 says: "Chock the wheels and disconnect the battery - The Cylinder head bolts must be discarded and renewed, irrespective of their apparent condition"

 Thought I might get away with leaving the liners in situ so made up some straps and sleeves to hold them in place ( what thread are the headbolts ? thought they were M12 fine but no  )
4,5,6 are ish OK ......... 0.17 to 0.12 but 1,2,3 0.07 to 0.12 .
There are two notches on each liner ,I presume to time them to the piston ,how accurate do I need to be when I reinstall ? within 5/10 degrees ?

To time them in/to the block , as in a position mark .If yours are new then you dont need to bother on the first fitment but after its run there will be some lateral loads that wear the liners slightly or a lot if you've done it wrong
