I would be better for Steve to assign some moderators so they could sort it when he is not online...

Personally I think it might be time to reduce access to non ' paid up ' members...

Most other forums have moderators. I think assigning a couple to help Steve out running the site would be the best solution. Then the spammers could be deleted as soon as they occur. It is getting rather annoying!

I would suggest moderators for the whole thing and limit non paying members to the General forum only, keeping events, services and for sale for pay members.

We need to get one of those facilities where anyone joining has to look at some wiggly numbers and letters and type them into a box to prove they arent a computer before they are allowed to post! :D

At the moment this is a very friendly, nice site full of enthusiasts like me who dont really not what their on about! and guys that are on the ball and willing to help out other GTA drivers who need help.
I would hate to think of it as any differant, it would some how not be right if it started to get all " closed shop " and start getting all stuck up and pompose like some other clubs.
never really ever thought that i would own a gta, but am i happy that i do!!.

PeterG, Is that a stuttter? :D

I am not a member, but do use the forum. But if you made it members only I would join. BUT have you looked at the 'other' Alpine forum in comparision to this one, very few posts and infrequently visited, a members forum! :(

Suggest if you need to stop the idiot spammers then you need to put some simple security in.

- Not registered, no posting
- To register, you have to register through a 'controlling' member, who only on satisfied of validity of the application issues a p'word

N-n-n-no not a st-st-stutter!!! Definitely need to stop the spammers. As for members, CAR has more paid up members than we do their forum is just dead.....most of the regular posters on here are already paid up.
