Chargecooler Header Tanks

Ive just had a large batch of alloy header tanks made for the chargecooler kits instead of just using a filler next or plastic pipe

180mm long by 80mm diameter with a universal mounting lug at the back, and a STANT type pressure cap and bleed pipe. Allows you to get the tank up nice and high and bleed any air in the system easy. Take off pipes are standard 19mm push on as per the chargecooler.

£55 each.

Very nice...want one of those.......now just need to find £55!!! Christmas, (Trudy's) birthday and weddings have left me more than a little broke.....guess it'll be a funeral next! :lol:

i will buy one if i finally decide to buy the charge cooler kit.

Is it worth fitting a charge cooler to a standard motor running standard boost,or won't i see much benefit!??

Oh yes, its probably the best mod you can do to the car, for max gains.

Even at standard boost, the inlet temps go sky high after a few full boost runs...

So i take it the standard ecu setup has a broad enough band to give the extra fuel required at lower temps!??

Is the price of £695.00 inclusive of VAT?

Do you have any pics to show a fitted kit,i.e the cooler, rad and header tank.

Yes, the original ecu and engine from the factory was mapped for low (normal) intake temps, it just when its actually fitted into a GTA we never see this. If you ever drive a Renault 25 V6 Turbo, even though on paper its got less power, its faster as it never drops off in power being front engined/intercooled.

With the chargecooler, the GTA goes like it does on a cold winters day, but all the time. Peter gained over 50lb/ft of torque simply by switching to the CC setup.

Just a couple more questions for you David.

When running with a charge cooler,on a cold winters day, do you get anyproblems with freezing and again with the fuelling can the ecu cope with the cold winters day plus the addition of the CC??

Where abouts do you recommend mounting the tank and also the rad.I was thinking of mounting the rad where the air con rad used to be!!??

Do you have any kits in stock,i will go to your website for purchase.

Hi, no problems fueling wise. Don't think of the chargecooler as getting the charge temps lower than the original ecu has never seen. Like I said before, Renault would have mapped the ecu for all manner of conditions, cold and hot countries alike, but not actually fitted into a 'GTA' which its designs and poor intercooler placement rockets the inlet temps.

Simon Taylor is running a standard engine, turbo , but with 14psi of boost on the CC and the car is absolutely fine, and gets good results. Im sure he will confirm.

Fitting the rad in front of the original rad is fine, or offset to either side of the front subframe. It won't get as good natural air flow there, but the rad is fan assisted so this is not a problem..

Tank wise, keep it as high as possible. With its design, with the mounting tag on the rear it could be mounted onto the top of a suspension turret which will just keep the max water level above the height of the CC unit, or paint it black and actually have it to one side in the rear engine compartment (carpeted area) next to the rear window for instance, with the pipework going into the engine bay. This is the best way but not quite as simple to do.

AWESOME highly reccomended !
The whole point of the system is to get the intake air as cool as possible, so I would not suggest mounting the pre-rad behind the normal rad. Should be ok in front of it, or mounted in the wing well (as I did) well away from the water rad and it's radiant heat.

Just thinking of the best place to mount the charge cooler rad on the T2 :? i was hoping it might have gone in the side pods, but even with a custom rad it would be tight.
So its looking like front mounted :? tight up to the main rad.
Whats the situ re air flow restriction through the coolent rad? A lot? A bit?
I was thinking of not bothering with the fan on the CC rad as the aux puller fan on the main rad is going to pull air through? ANY THOUGHTS :?:
