GTA Videos

I've posted a couple of mpeg video clips of a track day I attended at Anglesy with CAR a couple of years ago.

They are only very brief clips lasting ten seconds or so. Each is about 6mb and takes, I think, roughly a couple of minutes to download on broadband.

I used up the 15mb of web space that comes with my ISP account and so haven't got space for more than these brief clips. I might sort out some more clips, I've got some video from a Curborough track day too, and rotate them round every week or so.

No doubt if everybody goes looking at once it'll grind to a halt and make me unpopular with my ISP

One is a clip of a red French GTA Le Mans. I remember noticing on the day that it was subtly modified, slighly lowered and cross drilled brakes. Don't know if it had any engine mods but he punted it round the track quick enough!

The other clip is of my GTA in healthier happier times!


I know they're a bit poor, but just thought there was a lack of Alpine vids on the net!

I take it from the lack of response everyone is completely underwhelmed by my efforts!

Maybe Stephen can create a Video Gallary section if any one else has some stuff or clips from episodes of Howards Way and Eldorado?

I'm going to update it when i get a minute.

I've discovered if i change the video format to wmv instead of mpg i can achieve much better compression and fit clips lasting about one minute into the same 6mb file size, instead of a measly ten seconds!

Id like to get hold of the Top gear episode in 1992 where Jeremy Clarkson does a review of the A610 and takes it round the track. He says its actually one of his all time favourite cars, and is nominated for one of the cars of the year..

OK, I might look into a video section as I've got lots of little clips, including some of you guys. I need to sort out an ace compression programme though as I'll run out of space on the server otherwise

Justin, ive managed to compress your lemans video into a DivX format Avi file at only 900k long, with hardly any drop in quality.

I,ve checked it out David. Excellent! Much better compression. Funny, a guy in work mentioned using DivX to me today! Not looked into how to go about encoding to DivX yet. What software did you use?

I've updated the other clip though, using wma format. It's now a smaller download at 3.75mb and it's a longer clip lasting a whole minute now!

I'll continue to work on some more clips to upload and change the LeMans clip to a longer one soon.
