What an embarrassing thread this has been.
We all know GTA's arnt the fastest things out there, but that isn't why we have them.
As for wild claims about cars that haven't been built yet....
I might as well say I'm building a car with an F1 engine in and make similar claims.
Gary, stop bragging and get on and build the car, then you'll almost cetainly get the respect.
In the meatime, watch this video and weep,.... oh and listen to the lyrics too - very appropriate!

Mine was built , now it's being re-built so it did actually go before or can't you read then rupert  Peterg started it all by saying my gordini understeered and won't be as fast as his gta , i was only replying to his comments and wild claims . Nice video by the way , i've seen it ages ago but always nice to see the renault 5's . As far as i know there's only 1 fast modified gta in the uk and that's Tony Smiths , theres a shopping forum for the rest

I know I wasnt going to reply again  but Gary is such a cockerel its difficult not to!
Gary.....as usual you have read the forum then put your own interpretation on it........I made a quip about understeer, never made any wild claims about my car, have never said that my car is faster than your Dini....just laid down a challenge to you after you slagged off all GTAs to put your car where your mouth is.
As to whether Tony's car is the only quick GTA out there, you might want to actually consider weight into the factor....if your brain can calculate (and I suspect from what weve seen so far it cant) then you will see that power to weight wise my car fairs very well......especially now that it has no front bumper and only one and a half front wings!!! You may also want to throw in Simon Taylors car which has been on a diet and tuning program, GT5s bling power mobile, Lee's soon to be tuned GTA and Rupert's 24v atmo. Obviously your Dini is better in every way than all of them.....but they are decent cars and to normal people rather fast!

Well if they get power and torque at high rpm insead of at 3000 revs then they may start too shift a bit instead of cruising . I'm building a proper 300 bhp 5 turbo engine as well so if my standardish one with a carb hits a 100 mph from standstill in quarter of a mile just wait for the rear engine version in 500 kilos of fiat 600 abarth    Whooooooooooooosh i'm gone !!!!!!!!!!

Now youre talking.....Fiat 600 Abarth....one of my all time favourites. Stick a bike engine in it......so much lighter, smaller and easier to sort. Either way, thats a car I'd like to see!

I'm using a 5 gordini turbo engine stroked to 1550cc with steel liners + forged pistons mated to a un1 transaxle from a 21 turbo . The engine will be at the rear sticking out of the boot with wide 1000 tcr abarth arches 10x13 split rims on the back and 7x13 fronts . I've got a dcoe carb inlet manifold with a cosworth sierra inlet plenum and throttle body joined to it , charge cooler + water injection , Eaton m90 supercharger blowing into the front intake of a large t35 turbo charger and full management etc , Power will be 300+ bhp and it should do 10 second quarters with the front wheels 2 foot off the deck    The cars being restored slowly at present but should be ready for the mechanical work next year . I think you'll like it when it's done 8)
