They're both part of the dixons group so I'm pretty certain they wouldn't.

Hi everyone
Small update, it turns out it was, at least partially, a drive shaft issue, which if Id checked the syptoms properly against charts available online I would have realised! The U-joint has abruptly fouled its casing so even a dummy like me can figure out the problem!

So whats actually going on in there that the rollers are tearing at the casing? Interestingly it wasnt making a horrible apart from the odd thunk and the engine wasnt covered in oil. In fact on the journey when it happened the car was quieter than it had been when I drove it the week before when it was starting to chirp a bit.

Hehe. No I graduated from a design course in Coventry last year and have been lucky enough to get to work with Landrover, Cadillac, Jaguar, Xworks and Playstation3 as a designer; ie getting paid to draw cars. Buying the GTA was my way of saying thankyou to me for always sticking by me in the tough times.

Of course Im now learning all about what goes on inside the mechanical bits of cars in punishing and expensive detail every time something breaks, but I dont grudge a penny for such a great machine.

I meant to write an update here- David G found the problem (a hugely knackered drive shaft and some tired engine mounts) and did a great job sorting them out.
