Phillips clock/Radio Display Unit

Postby Wrightbr » Thu Mar 15, 2007 12:23 am

Hi,

I have an trivial issue with my clock display. I replaced the phillips stereo years ago but kept the phillips display working as a clock. Unfortunately the wires (one black one yellow and one red, assume earth, lights, live) have come out the back of the unit and I do not know which order they go back in . There is a red wire connecting both end connections and then a choice of 5 different slots for the 3 wires to go into

Model no is
Phillips 22 AP 072/72
60 25 008 038
9022 130 72728
91 89 48 9017493

Can somebody please take a look at theirs and give me a clue, or point me to a wiring diagram?

I can mail photos of display if needed.

Many Thanks
Brad

Dont know if it's the same unit ,mines an earlier model 22AP045/62 ??
Black is earthed to the casing ,red and yellow go into the casing through a small hole and connect internally
These 3 wires connect to a capacitor straped to the back of the unit .
Red ,yellow ,black from the clock 1,2,3 .............red , white ,black into the capacitor 1,2,3 ............Then green ,blue ,black 1,2,3 out of the capacitor

Clee.

I will email you pictures of mine tonight to see if they are the same as my three wires seem to connect outside on a block?

Thanks,
Brad

Whilst we're on the subject of the stereo, can anybody tell me if the unit has any provisions for an auxiliary input round the back, or anyway of tapping an aux input for MP3?

I've been using one of those crappy tapes with the 3.5mm jack and all it ends up doing is picking up a world of fuzz and interference! :(

Get one of those cheap FM transmitter thingys, £6.99 from your local Esso, plug it in to your MP3 player, and tune it into a certain radio frequency..

* Guaranteed to work well... :D

I'm happy with the FM transmitter I bought from SAFIELD-ONLINE on eBay.

A little more expensive than the ones David is referring to but I can confirm that his customer service is good, and delivery is quick.

I use mine with a minidisc player - it has 4 FM channels and a 3.5mm jack plug. No prob's.

I think the GTA stereo is a really impressive looking 80's retro bit of kit - loads of buttons and sliders - and really didn't want to swap mine out. This is a good solution.
