There are approximately 10 Turbos, 4 Atmos, 1 LeMans and 1 A610 in Australia. No wonder a few in the UK are worried about the number of GTAs leaving your shores, when figures are as low as that.

There may be more GTAs than you think. Apart from the ones in Australia we have Southern Ireland, Japan, Singapore and Hong Kong, who all have righthand GTAs.

The Japanese had a spate of importing our best cars a few years ago, numbering around 20.
So if you add them all up, we have lost a lot from this country but not so many written off.

One of the Turbos now in Australia was never registered in the UK, as it went directly to Hong Kong from new. Unlike all of the UK ones it has no corrosion underneath, and is in nice condition with low miles.

Got an update from my source and has told me that the 2006 figures with numbers for each year going back to the 80's will be available in June and he will supply me these then.

Also he has told me that the figures are based on cars taxed or sorn'd within 12 months of when the census was taken. This means that it counts all "roadworthy" cars, so there could be a few barn finds or cars not sorn'd out there?

The figures on the website of 212 RHD "atmo's" were these based on UK sales or total RHD production?

Total RHD production.

I'm guessing the 1999 import in the figures must be mine although it's LHD and Turbo not an Atmo.

I'm guessing that there will be quite a few more Barn finds ( I have heard about three 610's that have been off the road for years and probably don't list in these figures).
I have just re registered three other vehicles of mine that weren't known to Swansea ( not that any of them are going to see the road any time soon- except from a trailer)
I wanted to keep the reg numbers for now- and its free and doesn't mean a SORN until you start to use it again.
Maybe time for a club "census"?

If you go to the RAC site you can do a quick look up by registration number and find out if the car is known to the DVLA (since the new V5C) its a taster for their to HPI checks.
http://www.rac.co.uk/web/vehiclechecks/
It gives you a chance to look up past cars for free- it used to tell you more, but not only tells you if its recognised, the model, year and the engine size.
All my pre 1990 cars were all missing/scrapped, but as plenty were Alfa's it didn't surprise me
