Not unless I have to .Floor carpets may be removed ? It's safer without ?
We'll see ............They'll be to busy debating my polycarb ' engine cover '
to notice :lol: The seats will come out in 10 mins anyway ,I made the brackets so I can just undo the 4 bolts into the seat and remove .

Floor carpets may be removed....but you have to paint whats there or it'll look crap!!! They are so light you might as well stick them back in and save yourself a load of effort.
As for the polycarb rear screen.......I suspect you are going to have to openly lie to them and hope they dont know any better.....or you will go straight to mod prod without passing go!!!!

I'll retrim it if needs be .I'm not putting the disgusting originals back in,they smell apart from anything else :lol: Paint it black :idea:
There is a rear glass between compartment and engine bay ,the polycarb is over the engine therefore a cover :wink: They can move me where they like ,as long as they let me run :D

They wont ever stop you running unless your car is unsafe, but trust me running your car in mod prod will get you down.....coming last is ok for a while, but once you start competing the bug will get you and you will want to do well. Everyone says 'I dont mind where I come I just want to have a go' , its basically boll*cks after the first meeting!!!!! The only people you see just out for a jolly and not giving 2 jots are elderly men in classic and vintage cars......and Ferrari drivers! :D

No youre right.....you probably wont come last.....I think every motor club employs one of the aforementioned elderly gents to keep up the morale of other people. Sadly, once youve figured this out there is no satisfaction in beating them!!! :lol:

In the south, some regs allow you to change the material of the boot and bonnent, and others dont.

If you take the Midland speed championship for example, I think you would be ok with a polycab engine cover.

Yes, but it also says no glass may be replaced with other materials. The boot lid is the engine cover which youve already removed!!!!

Lee, ask the question and explain your plight about complete non availability of rear glass hatch to Mr Walton (see regs 1.2.2) and see what they have to say. Might be good to give him a part number so he can check with Renault too. As a novice/rookie I doubt if they will mind too much so long as you don't win every round and the other competitors dont protest.... but to Peters point, I'd say it's a bit 50-50. They do like the cars to look well turned out though, so your interior should look a bit smarter than bare. Good Luck.

You wont gain a huge amount from having polycarb instead of glass anyway(although the weight loss would be nice).....you'll be running with glass partially open, and if by any freak occurence they did let you run with polycarb theres no way you'd be allowed to eek out an extra advantage by filling it full of holes to aid heat extraction!!
Enjoy your painting, I bet the Mrs loves that when the outlaws are about to land!!! :lol:
