My 1st hiccup

Hi everyone, hope that your all enjoying this most excellent weather and getting the grip outer those back tyres!!.
Guess it had to happen, 8mths into GTA ownership without any faults apart from the one's that came with the car ( niggles ), but my passenger rear lights have de-tached them selves, only the bulbs and electric cables were holding it to the car ( very unlady like! ) so at the moment they are taped on ( looks crap ). All 4 plastic screw holes have snapped on the light assemble.
Question do i get new ones , 2nd hand ---how much? or do i glue it back to the car? Cheers John.

new...... might not be available at the moment as we ordered a couple for club members not long ago and they were expensive and took a long time to arrive, it was part of a factory clearout so who knows..... mr Dell can give you a price if they are still available,

They can be repaired if it's just the screw mounts ,you only need 2 to hold on well enough .Get some plastic padding and fix in some threaded bar or saw off some bolts .Make sure they're M7 though

Either that or epoxy metal stuff. Looks like plasticine in two colours. You pull a bit off and knead it in your hand for a minute to make the two parts mix.

Sets in about 10mins and you can even use it to make threaded holes the other way round by coating the bolt in vaseline then forming it around this. It's great stuff and rock hard.

Bear in mind that you usually need 2 rear lights as the 'smoked' effect varies so a new one usually looks different to the original, then check the price... You'll understand why these guys are experts at bod...... Reverse engineering

Go for it - nice bit of Araldite will do the job - did on mine and still going strong after a couple of years. Just make sure you clean up the threads and apply some grease so that the long nuts dont seize and burst the mountings off again when you next need to get the lights out

It's daft isn't it? A 26 year old car famous for being a complete failure, and you can get parts easy peasy lemon squeasy (and most of the owners have spent so much buying the bloody things they moan about even that price!)
