Nosecone Replacement

Postby BIG_MVS » Fri Apr 13, 2007 11:35 pm

Right, finally getting round to changing the nosecone on my car, read the help and write up on the site. Anyone else carried this out and have tips for cutting the nosecone away from the body? Someone told me to use cheese wire?

Also Andrew gave me a part no for Durisil or similar?? for bonding the nosecone back in, has anyone got another part number for this compound or a similar product I can use as Renault as per have said it's unavailable?

Cheers,

Martin

Find a motor factor that specialises in body repair supplies - tell them what you are trying to achieve and they should be able to recommend a cartridge (or 2) of sealant that will have the right sort of adhesive and flexing properties

When I refitted the nosecone on my white car I didn't use any sealant at all so it could be removed again easily if necessary. It fitted well using just the bolts
