Farnham - Zolder - return in 1 day. 494 miles between 4 am and about 9pm. It broke down 1 mile from home just as I was about to collect a curry. Altenator bearings had seized. Never broken down since, very good for a 20 year old car. She gets plenty of fettling though.

I trust it 101%, (except the fuel guage) I just carry tools and a spare tyre on race days.

Aix les Bains to oschersleben and back last year 1350 miles round trip and not a murmer except when it hit the rev limiter in top on the autobahn

I'd have no hesitation driving to Munich (done it 5 times in the last 5 years) in a day or two.

around 5,000k's in 4 days...

Left with a bad earth connection, car wouldnt idle... car kept cutting out when lights were turned on (but would start again after a moment).
Went through snow with the car like this, poor lighting, rain, animals runnning out on the road, no warm clothing.
Then went through 35k's of gravel road, max speed was 15km/h.
Almost got bogged 3 times in mud.
Then had $15 to my name on the return trip from Melbourne after fuelling up, & had to sleep in the car. (R5T2, with VERY snug bucket seats, i'm 6'3") & had a $7 McDonalds breakfast on the way home. (trip home was 900km from the fuel stop)

Almost died, but my car has NEVER let me down... it just likes to rest every few hundred k's & have its engine bay opened.

Sorry guys, you just cant beat that

I can't even get to the bottom of the road in any of my 3 GTAs at the moment so even the offy is out of the question.

The white atmo made it to Le Mans and back previously.

get your spanners out and get on fixed! you must be able to make one good one from 3........ :lol:

As it's the only car I currently have that works, it's been pressed into service collecting parts for the others to get them working again! Best was a 320 mile round trip to the south coast made in 4 hours, 50 minutes, including picking up the parts and a stop for petrol. :twisted:

Love it!

Jaguar XJS facelift - in bodyshop, been waiting over a month for a new rear bumper thanks to the wife's careful parking technique (you thought Alpine parts were hard to get!).
Triumph Stag - Still waiting for bodywork where a wellington booted twerp in a Vectra thought it was clear pulling out of a petrol station.
BMW 635csi - Waiting for me to get the floor welded for its MOT.
Ssangyong Musso GX220 - ECU blown!
Triumph Vitesse - Needs restoring, now for sale, never going to get round to it!
Subaru Impreza WRX import - Now being used by the wife after taking the Jag out of service. So...........................................

I give thanks for my Alpine - I would drive it anywhere in it (and at the moment I have to!)

Yes but you did eventually make to the RING!!!

mine I have travelled from Surrey to Harrogate and Donnington a couple of times, no problems just fuel smell......My Dini has been quite reliable too

but a Reno none the less. It took me with out mechanical hicup to LaChatre 1 1/2 hours south of Lemans and Lemans and back fully, and I mean fully loaded without a hicup and a couple of trips to Belgium(Antwerp) and I even hill climbed and sprinted it at the end of the year.

only thing that let me down was an indicator and the boot lid lock which being multi talented I managed to fix it until a new mechanism was purchased!!

Apart from that nothing else. It wil be interesting to see what she achieves at Brunters :?:
