My problems are manifold

I've found the source of my death rattle. my exhaust manifold has cracked
rhs middle pot about an inch from the flange
it is a mecaparts stainless system (atmo) - about 18months old

it makes a bloody awful metallic sound - and I can tell the crack is all through as I can see a blue ring (at night)

Should I consider this wear and tear ? or is it reasonable to ask mecaparts to replace ?

Mr G. - you sell these systems what do you reckon - should I 'parler avec mecaparts' in my best franglais ?

not fit for purpose in my books & any place that wants a decent reputation will replace it!
(or redesign if its a design flaw)

Call them up as a potential buyer, ask them if the item comes with a 2 year warranty/garantee.

If it is a yes you have your answer, good luck.

The stainless system for the DeLorean comes with a lifetime guarantee. If the mecaparts one doesn't, ask them why...

(and the manifolds for the DeLorean will fit the Atmo just as easily)

When I bought mine I was advised to buy the mild steel manifolds as they don't crack whereas the S/S ones do . Can't remember who advised this tho'.

Me probably, stainless is far more prone to cracking, hence why I stock mild steel ones mainly.

You probably could get a warranty from Meca, but with the rigmarole of what would be involved as you bought direct, it would just be easier to get it rewelded, and brace the rear silencer to a bracket so it is not loading the manifolds with the weight of it..
