Only a week till I catch my ferry over to France, so a few notes to you all who are coming.

Firstly if anyone needs a map of where we are camping and how to find their way in PM me with you address and I'll post you one.Tony has been before and should find his way into the camping site entrance, but is not easy the first time you have been. Most of the signage to the circuit is really simple though so have no fear.

I'm hoping to 'bag' the same spot we were in last year which is near the back of the site. I'll send my phone number to you by PM if you want it.

The site has good hot showers with no queues if you pick your time well, good loos and a Danish bar. so no worries about hygiene (and beer)

What to bring? Well there is an old adage at Le Mans - 'Carrefour will provide'.

It is true, pretty much anything can be bought at the nearby(ish) hypermarket. Apart from the obvious camping accesories I would strongly recommend the following:

Air beds are really good, the ground is very hard. Ear plugs to get good sleep, paracetemol, boots - walking or rubber - and a light cagoule type thing, if it rains it is horrible.
Sun block, a decent hat that shades your neck, one of those fold up chairs - with a beer bottle holder. If it gets sunny it is damned hot.

Paracetemol, Danish phrase book, (that one is a joke by the way though it could be handy)

Some people bring frozen bacon in a cold box wrapped in insulation which will last until Sunday morning apparently. One thing you cannot get in France is decent Bacon!.

FM Radio, paracetemol, phone and charger.

Last year we took a generator, fridge, lights, telly all sorts of crap but I can't be arsed this year - sorry, so if you're planning to cook a stove and or disposable bbqs are fine... and all available at Carrefour!

Did I mention Paracetemol?

Lots of clean underwear..... nothing quite like it.

Ticket holders that hang round your neck - you probably got them with your tickets. I have a few spares if not.

Cash. There are cash points around but few and far between.

Don't bring your driving licence. Bring a colour photocopy and a copy of the counterpart bit. If you get stopped that will provide all the info the Rozzers will need, and thay can't impound the original.

Speeding...... This weekend has become a big earner for the French Police with on the spot fines of up to £500. They can impound your car too if they like. Motorways arn't too bad as the cameras are all marked and the signs are about 200m before each camera... don't think you can get points yet from these in any case. But on the normal roads they cen get you from about a mile away with the laser guns. So you have been warned.

Mobile phones.... Again the Police are not at all keen on drivers using these. You will be dragged out of the car and have it shoved up your asp if you are caught using it, not to mention the 1000Euro fine. Take particular care if you are calling me as you get to the camp site.

Oh another thing.... the ground is like rock. I take a rechargeable drill for the tent pegs. No kidding. I will also have a large hammer so don't worry.

That was a truely FANTASTIC weekend. It took me 2 days to get over the jet lag. You deserver 3 RAOC championship points for each attendee. "first class".
The atmosphere was good, the racing was good, the driving was good, the humour was good, the women were good (there were 'none'), the food was good and the green bottles were plentifull, you know what I mean. I'm not being funny but even the weather was good. I hope every one got home ok, we saw a few sights on the way and some cars took a bit of a bashing, like a DB9 with no front lights.

great to see you had a good time will definately be going next year!
