When braking I get a clunking/rattle (hard to describe) noise from the rear at slow speeds, take the foot off the brake and coast, and like cillit bang the sound is gone!
Sounds like a joint could have gone. Get underneath, grab each shaft in the centre, and give them a good wiggle in all directions. There should be no movement or noise...
Sounds familiar; one of my joints wasnt living up to its name and made a similar noise. Ask David, it was Micheal Bucked. Is there an associated juddering, particularly under acceleration?
Not just a certain side, you need the shaft the correct 180 degree rotation to the pin holes, 180 degrees out and it wont line up.
Changing is a doddle, just unbolt the top hub carrier bolt, buzz off the hub nut, pull the carrier down towards you and pull out the shaft. Rememeber oil is going to drip out the box the moment you remove it.
