Well at least you hit 200bhp on the 2nd run.

Very few standard cars ever make the claimed 160.

Also the factory cars needed cam, modded piston rings & liners to make 210.

What boost are you running?

Also will we see you at Donington!!

Its got the cam Stephen but no Pistons/liners etc Its running 16psi for the 200+ power run but its leaning off with the AFR's at the top end (just getting into the 13's) the water injection seems to be doing its thing re det meaning no det :? Hopfully running a water/ methanol mix will bring the afr figures down? Speaking to a lad from York who is running 30% Methanol with the water inj with a direct port set-up on his GTO brought the AFR's down 1/2 a point :?

Donnington. Will prob give it a go Stephen :)

Just out of interest this was on the same dyno as the RTOC rolling road day featured in Performance GTI a Month or so ago, So a bit of a comparison i suppose

Think one of the probs i have with the T2 is the TR7, The T2 is slow in comparison, this is the dyno run done on the same Dastek  Dyno. a lttle down on power from the V8 developments engine dyno but OK. decent torque though

Sure i posted this pic before :? Just for interest the gauge on the left is the EGT gauge which reads exhaust gas temps from four cylinders. Bottom left is the Inovate AFR gauge, next to it is the SPA water temp and Boost, top right is A SPA temp gauge reading charge temps, one straight after the Turbo the other at the end of the intercooler (before the water inj jets) the last one is the SPA brake bias gauge  Just need ten sets of eyes :D with the exception of the afr gauge they all have over temp/boost etc warning lights  good job :)

T2 Power graphs

Postby Tony Smith » Mon Aug 06, 2007 5:58 pm

I think the dastek rollers must read low my old Gordini turbo made 190bhp and 189 ft/lbs at 16 psi - standard engine but with intercooler and GT 5 turbo carb -
Alpines - GTA 3.0 Turbo, GTA 3.0 Inj (Project DD), GTA 6.2 V8 (500 bhp) , R32 Skyline GTR, BMW Alpina B10 635 Highline, Alpina B10 E39 5 Series, Jaguar 4.2 XKR, Laguna 205GT, BMW 120d.

Maybe the rollers the Gordini went on were reading high  Didn't think the 200+ was to bad Tony, more or less what i was expecting.
Suppose it the same old story, different rollers different readings  still looks good though when taking the comparisons with the RTOC rolling road day in the Performance GTI mag.

Still stuck with the 15-16 PSI limit though Dave re; pistons and liners :? Another thing if you have a copy of performance GTI at hand, There was a local efi T2 running lots of boost and is only making a few extra rwhp, EFI would be nice though for more mods in the future  a lot of work though

nate; The low reading red was at low boost (its got one of those Turbosmart boost controlers with a low/high boost switch  ) i think the diference with the other two was playing with the water injection :?:

No you won't. You stuck with '15-16psi', because in the past this has been the limit using non programmable management.

With management, you could play with the ignition, just to make the car go faster, nothing to do with making more peak power. Increase the spool, give it more low end grunt.

The other T2 running EFi, might have not have had the correct parts though, CC, decent turbo.

You could run an ecu just to run ignition to start with, as the fueling side requires more fabrication. I have a customer with a T2 thats just purchased an ecu, be good to see how he gets on.
