Sunroofs? GTA V6 '86 onwards.....

Postby a22 » Tue Aug 14, 2007 9:36 pm

Hi there, yes just wondering what the situation is with installing a Sunroof? As the GTA fibreglass, is there going to be any issue with 'weakening' the structure? Wouldn't have thought so, as you could say that about a metal car?
Just wanted to check with others though as I haven't seen to much on this subject. I mean, a sunroof would be quite pleasant as they do get slightly 'stuffy' inside in the summer. Is it even possible to go further and add maybe a T-Roof? Sorry purists... but I want some air and sun!!

thanks and any info views/ discussion appreciated..

Tony Law has a sunroof in his wide bodied GTA. Ask him nicely and he might post a picture up!

It's just a flat fibre glass panel so I don't think there are any issues with installation. Might not be to everyones taste when it comes to re-sale and motorsport would be a no no.

I think the answer as to chassis rigidity is in your own avatar, Steve (and your garage :) )

yes, not so much info and it seems generally people don't 'cut their roofs up'! Yes, as to the Avatar of Stephen, was always curious little by this... here the roof gone?

Can't be standard although I think they did make some convertibles, US market possibly?
Anyway thanks for replies and right now my GTA is doing well in Europe, cruising in the sun aT 32MPG! its not so hot so maybe I won't cut the roof off (just yet).
