Mystery car ..

Postby 2P5T » Wed Nov 07, 2007 3:56 am

.. well, not really, I'm sure some of you here will know these mid-engined French devices. I assume there are none in the UK that anyone is aware of?

Don't you love the way I didn't mention the marque, giving someone a perfect opportunity to chip in and impress us all.

More here, keeping some A110's and A310's company . I wouldn't mind that Lancia 037 parked behind the Integrale.

Originall it was sold with a fitting kit for any of the 'sierra' engines from the R8 or the ally R16 engine, but they've since had every engine you can imagine transplanted into them.

Well done Alpineandy for the ID. 8)

The cars origins date back to 1969 and I think the usual powerplant came from the Renault 8 Gordini. The red car in my post above looks great from that angle but from the side they look a bit awkward IMO. I think that is a Citroen windscreen and it is quite tall with not much rake. The later cars, like the red one immediately below and the yellow one from my earlier post above clearly have a different screen fitted.

8Gs power plants weren't that readily available at the time, but the majority have been upgraded to 8G motors since then.
They go really well with a 'A110 1600S' motor :D
