Well its nice to have a day or a mag shoot with some figures you can really go 'wow' at, and also its motorvation for anybody thinking about making their cars go faster.

Im sure you yourself, if you went head to head with someone, and they beat you, the first thing you would think is, 'right, how can I make it faster'...

I'll take that as a compliment, but why on earth would i feel the need to make it faster?

lol, no I meant If we had some of the quick 5's down it would give some impressive figures to go wow at.

Renault's don't have a great rep in the tuning world, compared to Ford, Subaru, Nissan etc (basically everything else) so anyone looking at the Bruntingthorpe magazine figures might think this is all Renault engined based cars have to offer, so If we had some faster cars down it makes it look more purposeful and then peopl take it more seriously.

Martin, don't post things like this until it can be shown/proved, otherwise I can say my Aunt Mable has a 601bhp PRV.

LOL - wot, like the mythical peterg's car that produced way beyond what by your own admission the clutch would be able to take, then went bang two days later... I've still yet to see a PRV running successfully on the Adaptronic unless I built it and/or it's running off a trigger wheel that isn't all wobbly.

If you actually picked up the phone and tried calling Kevin, you might learn a thing or two - but that of couse would put you in danger of slipping of that safe comfy place at ART towers where you'll never be proved wrong simply by virtue of never actually doing any of the stuff you yourself "recommend"...

Your explanation of the gearing thing is laughable... you're making all sorts of assumptions, like the power delivery being linear, like the gear changes happening at the same time... I could go on, but I see no point...

Lee, there'll be a Z7U DeLorean finished early next year - I'm working on it right now - in fact I'm off tomorrow to check on the newly galvanised chassis. The exhaust is done, all the intake pipework is sitting ready to go. The machine shop has a couple of things to finish (incl modifying the trigger) then I can finish building the engine. The owner lives right next to a well known track oop norf.... hence one of the reasons for the new engine in the first place.

Lol, Martin, I have spoken to Kevin in the past and I know full well what he relays to you is not what he relays to me. FYI, he didnt even know that the 24v Peugeot lump was even fire, he thought it was oddfire..don't believe me, ask Steve...

And as for my 'comfy towers' as you put it, the reason why I can sit here, is because I have been self employed in the specialist motor industry all my working life, unlike yourself who played with making robots for Robot Wars, designed infact to destroy each other ( I see a pattern emerging with your cars) so don't think Im being strange when I find it funny that Im being quizzed by someone who is challenging simple logic, or tested rules set in stone.. I don't need to do the stuff I 'recommend' as everyone else does and gets the results they want. The fact is I have done this for years and get results, where you are trying to make a name for yourself, but going about it the wrong way..

Are you the sort of guy that would poke fun of Steven Hawkins, and say 'what can he know about astro-physics and exploring the universe, he just sits in that chair all day...'

I still can't believe you are questioning the thing about gearing up the 1/4mile, but this is your typical attitude that has made you no friends on the Delorean scene. I don't enjoy making you look a fool, not intentionally, you just walk right into by swearing black is white all the time..

But here you go, a nice calulator for you. Have a play around with the tire size and see how it affects diddly squat in relation to drag racing..

http://www.wallaceracing.com/accel-calc.php

Do you not find it the slightest bit strange, that when you disagree with something Ive said, no one ever agrees with you?? Do you not think that when I raise a point, that Im damn sure on the subject otherwise I wouldnt say anything at all. I never say 'I think'. Either Im sure, or I keep shtum. 'Opinions' don't fix engines or make cars go faster...For gawd sake you argued with people about what is a 'bar of pressure' and came across all pretentious saying you had an 'A Level in physics' and then get proved wrong by some guy that wittingly said he had a 'swimming 20yds swimming certificate'

http://www.gtr.co.uk/forum/upload/5677- ... #post59790

We've only seen one example of your tuning, the D at Bruntingthorpe, tuned by yourself, and its come out with less power and performance than standard...

As for Adaptronic, well Petes car ran it (and you seem to have a memory lapse that his car was running for a couple of months at 330lb.ft and 260bhp), Tony car ran it, Simons, now Daves, various 21's and a myriad of Renault 5s, all using the same system. YOU in fact, are yet to show us 1, and even if you do, we are sure that it will be running less than standard power, so Id rather you take it off as your giving the product a bad rep, but while you unwire it, please be carefull not to short any wires out on the ecus so you don't blow another couple of units up like you did last time (so far your on the only person to do so) as you might start a fire in your un-insured workshop

I have no real urge to tune my own cars, as (a) im not trying to impress everyone, and (b) I dish out enough engine/design/technical advice through all my working days to customers so their results speak for themselves. The sooner you realise that tuning an engine is a very simple excercise, but takes careful planning way before you even attempt to pick up a spanner (or crowbar in your case) then you will get what Im on about..

Tuning an engine to full power with a limitless budget is very easy, tuning to half power with a limited budget is the real skill.

If anybody wanted a 'full power' PRV (or any engine) I can do it, but then so can anyone... Just give me the dough and it can be done in a week....Ultimate spec, nothing less......

But who cares... :?:

Martin, I can laugh at anything you throw at me, because when we first met, infront of all your (ex) Delorean friends you said to them 'if you want to know anyting about tuning PRV's, speak to this man...'....I don't know whether to feel honoured or embarrassed, seeing as it probably one of the most primative and simple engines out there so hardly an accolade and know we know you, coming from yourself it means even less...

END :!: Its boring, and Im sure everyone is sick of it, and I apologise for both of us. If you want to argue with me endlessly on a point, take it off the forums from now on.

True  , just shows that Im not that bothered in the long run.. I really want a Spider, and even though I do a turbo conversion for the engine, I'd probably leave it like it is and enjoy it, though at the same time I really do love the non turbo GTA's too...

Feck nose, pushbike.....

[quote="si21 21 Turbo Reigns Supreme quickest shed money can buy  8)

Si21 and i love it for that reason [/quote]

Hate to throw a spanner in the works but a Saab 9000 2.3 turbo can be had for under a grand in very acceptable condition and with the same mods and boost as your 21easily makes 250 + bhp and 300 ft/lbs of torque. OK they are a bit heavier and a bit softer but probably quicker. Others for consideration - 200 zx and 300 zx Nissans, Legacy turbo, 540i BMW, Volvo 850 T5, XJS V12(only if your very brave and your dad owns Shell!), Phase 2 RX7 Turbo (see Jag XJS), Starion Turbo, Celica GT4. Any of these can be had for under £1500 and most for much less if you don't mind a few bumps and bruises
Alpines - GTA 3.0 Turbo, GTA 3.0 Inj (Project DD), GTA 6.2 V8 (500 bhp) , R32 Skyline GTR, BMW Alpina B10 635 Highline, Alpina B10 E39 5 Series, Jaguar 4.2 XKR, Laguna 205GT, BMW 120d.
